All of Anna’s Jewellery is made in Sterling Silver, and it will need to be looked after as Sterling Silver is an alloy that in 92.5% Silver and 7.5% other alloys (mainly copper) and because of this it will naturally tarnish.
Some of my jewellery is oxidised (a black /darkgrey finish) This can gradually wear away over time creating more of an antique look. If this does happen and you would like your piece re-oxidising then please contact me.
Here are a few tips to help you keep your jewellery looking beautiful.
I would recommend keeping your jewellery in the box provided as it has an anti-tarnish layer so this will slow down the tarnishing process.
If your jewellery is oxidised I would recommend storing it separately to your other jewellery.
Store your jewellery carefully as exposure to excess heat or damp conditions will cause your jewellery to tarnish.
Try and avoid Perfumes, cosmetics and household chemicals when wearing your jewellery.
If your jewellery has tarnished then I would recommend Silver Dip for plain silver jewellery. Do not use this if your jewellery is oxidised or contains leather, and make sure that you rinse it off properly.
If your jewellery is oxidised or has leather in it then use a silver polishing cloth and gently used that to clean the piece.
If your jewellery has a matt finish it can be restored by gently rubbing the surface with a green brillo cloth in a circular motion. Please note matt surfaces naturally polish up with wear.
