Branding Facts, you might not know about Anna Calvert

Branding Facts, you might not know about Anna Calvert

I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you a few things about the business that you might not already know. So many things have changed over the past few years and the business has grown so much. So it felt like a good time to share a few of our brand values…

Firstly, wanted to share more about how important our Sustainability Commitment is. we work hard to continually push the dial to ensure we are as sustainable and eco-conscious as possible. We have also spent a lot of time working on our packaging, ensuring the wrapping tissue is acid-free and recycled, boxes are all made from recycled materials, as well as the cute little pouches. We want each delivery to feel like a beautifully wrapped treat, even if it's for yourself. Finally, we only have 2 posting days a week, reducing the carbon footprint when travelling to the post office.

Second is the inspiration and starting point for my jewellery designer journey. As a young and curious girl, I would spend hours listening to my nan’s stories as she’d pull piece after piece out of her bright bold jewellery box. I would forever wonder why these beautiful pieces were hidden away. Fast forward a few years, I decided to transform my passion into purpose and gained my BA Honours in Jewellery Design and Silversmithing. So when Anna Calvert was born I become fearlessly passionate about ensuring the jewellery I created would be worn and loved every day. Not wanting my pieces to be hidden in a Jewellery Box, but cherished, loved and seen.

Next up, since November 2021 we have been planting a tree for every single order, and at the time of posting this blog, we’d planted 1225 trees in less than 9 months. We are conscious of replacing what we take from the world, and this is a fantastic way for me to do so through the support of my business.

Something which I don't get the opportunity to do very often is creating bespoke pieces. It is a different and much more emotional journey when creating a commissioned piece of jewellery for a special occasion or to capture a memory. But each one is always so different and challenges me in new ways every time.

Finally, the last point is something we’ll be talking a little more about towards the end of the year. As well as using recycled sterling silver, you might not know but we use recycled gold too. You can only see a sprinkling of gold on our stacker rings and a few stunning stud earrings - but it is something we are planning to introduce more of!

So there you have it, 5 little bits of information that you may not have been aware of about Anna Calvert the brand.

Oh, and 1 more little fact! You may know that I moved the studio back into my house - what you probably don't know, is the main reason for that decision was that I didn't want to be aware of my dogs every day!
